Sinead Lough Ceramics
Sinead Lough Ceramics creates handmade, functional and brightly coloured pottery from her workshop in Ballyferriter, on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry. Owner and ceramist, Sinead, is a graduate of NCAD and, more recently of the Craft Council’s Pottery Skills Course in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. She makes functional and decorative hand thrown pieces from her workshop in Kerry and also works to commission.
Sinead says of her work, “I make a range of thrown forms in white earthenware. The shapes are often altered or distorted after throwing and additions such as handles are applied. Surface treatments include a variety of decorative techniques using brightly coloured slips and glazes. The pieces are mostly functional, but are also intented to be fun and playful items.”
(May to September)
The workshop is open 10am to 6pm Tue – Sat
Sunday opening July & August and Bank Holidays 12pm – 4pm
The workshop is open for most of the rest of the year but not at regular times so if you are making a special trip it is a good idea to phone/text ahead to make sure Sinead will be there there, especially during January/February.
